December 2011 Dear Prayer Warriors, Thank you so much for your prayers for us and the people here, though you may not have heard from us for a while and may not know specifically how you can pray, you do it anyway. What a blessing! We serve a God that knows our needs at any given time, yet wants us to solicit Him in prayer to fulfill those needs and to grow in Him. We also need to praise Him for those things He provides us daily. One of the many things we are thankful for are YOU, our prayer partners. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Last week was the Muslim holiday of Bahram. It is the largest holiday in the Muslim calendar where Muslims celebrate the sacrifice of Abraham of his son (they believe was Ishmael). Muslims who practice this usually get a live animal like a lamb if they can afford it or simply a chicken and prepare a large family meal, kind of like what we do on Thanksgiving. However, they slay the animal and spill its blood as a covering for their sin. We know the symbolism in this and the necessity they may feel since they do not know of the Savior and His once and for all sacrifice. Please pray for: - A heartfelt desire in people to seek forgiveness from God as most celebrate this holiday without meaning - For this desire for forgiveness not to stop, after the sacrifice, and for it to grow into seeking Christ. - Against the enemy as he uses it to oppress his people and also we feel the spiritual darkness - Spiritual openness and opportunities for us to proclaim Christ to attentive ears and hearts. We also want to share with you and praise God for the changes we are seeing in some of the teenagers we are working with. A couple have accepted Christ over the summer and several others have been very receptive to Christ�s teaching and His words from the Bible that we share during the weekly Friday meeting. Please continue to pray! If you would like to do this during our teen meeting, it is at 4:00pm (10:00am EST) on Friday. We thank God for his sustaining power for us in ministry here in Albania. It has been a long journey and we are seeking to continue to be faithful in service to Him here. Thanks for your faithfulness in prayers and support.
